A complete renovation of
Hinesburg’s existing Town Hall resolved major structural
problems and provided additional meeting, vault and office
space. Contemporary concerns of energy conservation were
addressed, and code requirements of accessibility, building,
and fire were adhered.
Work performed by this office included; structural investigation
with engineer, preliminary design and budget work, town
wide and internal surveys of needs and concerns, work on
preparation of a bond proposal for the town, and schematic
design.
Robert Bast served subsequently as Consulting Design Architect
and assisted in design development and construction phases
of the job. The project was completed on time and within
the proposed and voted budget. Choosing renovation instead
of new construction preserved an historic structure and
maintained a certain character within the Village.
